Riding high on the success of Redmi Note 3, the Beijing-based company is reportedly planning to launch the much-awaited Redmi Note 4 on 19 January, in India.
Xiaomi, which recently reported that it crossed $1 billion in revenue for the year 2016 in India, is all equipped to introduce a new device in India. According to the reports, the company has already sent out invites.
Redmi Note 4, which was launched last year in China features a full metal unibody design coupled with 2.3D curved glass covering and a 5.5-inch full-HD display. It is powered by a ten-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. However, for Indian users, the company is expected to introduce phones with Qualcomm processors due to a patent dispute with Ericsson.
The phone is equipped with a 13-MP rear camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone LED flash and 5-MP front camera. The Dual-SIM phone runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and sporting a 4,100mAh battery.
The phone was launched in two variants in China, 2GB of RAM with 16GB of onboard storage, 3GB of RAM with internal storage of 64GB. They are priced at Rs 9,000 and Rs 12,000 respectively. A blue colour variant is also expected to be added to the phone’s colour scheme — already offering Gold, Grey, and Silver options. The smartphone also sports a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel of the device alongside an expandable storage via microSD card of up to 128GB.
The phone also packs a fingerprint scanner and an infrared sensor.
With Redmi Note 3 on company's success board, Xiaomi is already at number three position in terms of individual smartphone vendors in India, according to IDC data. With its latest offering, the company is expected to garner more user base.
