Adding one more fitness tracker to the wearable market, Xiaomi’s WeLoop has launched a new smartwatch — Hey 3S, which shares striking similarities with the Nike Edition of the Apple Watch.
Introduced on Xiaomi’s crowdfunded platform, MIJIA, the device has been priced at $78, which is currently available only in China.
Available in Dynamic Black, Bright Red and Green Youth colour options, Hey 3S comes with a 1.28-inch square touchscreen display and screen resolution of 176 × 176 pixels. Gorilla Glass 3 layer protects the display on top. Users can also customise the watch face with various themes and options to display time, date, and temperature.
The smartwatch is packed with sensors such as an accelerometer, electronic compass and gyroscope as well as a built-in heart sensor. Like other fitness trackers, Hey 3S keeps a tab on your daily activities, displays stats on your heart rate, distance travelled, and quality of sleep.
On the connectivity front, the smartwatch comes with Bluetooth 4.2. The WeLoop Hey 3S features GPS/AGPS+GLONASS connectivity and is also waterproof up to 50 meters.
Even though the straps on the watch are exactly similar to Apple Watch Nike+, it has some clear takeaways. The body is super light, weighing in at just 38 grammes and 46.21×35.66×11.15 mm in dimensions. The Hey 3S also features an excellent battery powering everything for at least 30 days.
Along with WeLoop, Xiaomi-backed Huami has also introduced a new fitness band called, Amazfit Health Band. Touted to be the advanced version of the Mi Band 2, Amazfit Health band is available in Sapphire Blue, Rose Gold and Deep Black colour options for 699 Yuan.
