Yes, you read that right- the color of a smartphone and its accessories are increasingly becoming important factors in deciding for or against a particular smartphone. And well, smartphone makers are tuning in just in time to up their color quotient to match the demand.
Soft Gold OnePlus 5
The case in point here could be OnePlus 5 that was launched with only two variants- Slate Gray and Midnight Black and was at the receiving end of a lot of flak for the same. Now, to rectify that, the company has decided to launch a limited edition Soft Gold OnePlus 5 in India at the same price as that of the slate gray variant.
Starting today, the limited-edition OnePlus 5 Soft Gold with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage will be available for Rs 32,999 in India through Amazon and OnePlus' website.
Black AirPods
If white Apple AirPods aren't your cup of tea, you have another chance a get them painted in whatever color you want. After gadget customization shop, ColorWare, we have another programmer named Nick who can paint your Pods black all for $99. Well, you can also buy new glossy BlackPods at $279 and the “Stealth” matte ones for $299.
This February, ColorWare made headlines for the customization it provides for the pair of AirPods along with the charging case. In total there are 58 different colors to choose from in two finishes. The customized AirPods by themselves start at $299, but adding in a customized charging case raises the price to $339.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Now, coming to the much awaited Galaxy Note 8 that is set to be unveiled in two weeks time. As per the latest leaks on Weibo, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be available in eight color variants - Midnight Black, Arctic Silver, Orchid Gray/Violet, Coral Blue, Dark Blue, Deep Sea Blue, Pink, and Gold. Now that's really a lot to choose from.
Notably, the front panel on all the color variants is said to be Black, while the S Pen matches the color variant you buy.
Given the gamut of options for Note 8, we can hope that many other smartphone manufacturers will follow suit and users could also have an option to get their smartphone customized in their favorite color soon. Amen.
