Do you remember the "Sleep Internship?"
Wake Fit, Bengaluru-based startup had invited application for Sleep Internship in 2019. They paid Rs 1 lakh, for 9 hours of sleep every day for 100 days. The mattress company offered the dream job, to 23 interns last year (out of 1.7 lakh aspirants).
The startup, on its website, states:
"Our dream for our sleep interns is that they sleep better than ever before. In order to enable that, we’ve given them a Wakefit Orthopedic Mattress, a fitness tracker, sessions with experts and challenges to get them to sleep better."
How to become a Sleep Intern?
While this would be a much-coveted job opportunity for many, it is not easy to become an intern for this company. They have to really prove to the bosses that sleeping is their topmost priority. They have to convince the company that this is what they love to do the most. On their website, the company started the application process for 2021 and has asked for volunteers for their one of a kind internship.
The purpose behind this is to change the mindset towards ‘sleep’. They want people to understand how it can be productive as well as healthy. While the interns do the needful on the special mattresses provided by them, they will track the sleep patterns of each and every one of them for 100 days.
A set of counselors will also be available as well as sleep trackers will be given to the candidates. The full money will only be given to those who are able to complete this internship.
