CIOL Vivo announces the limited IPL edition of its V5 Plus smartphone

Vivo, the Chinese smartphone company, is giving more reasons to be excited about the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). To celebrate the 10th anniversary of IPL, Vivo, which also happens to be the official title sponsor, has launched a limited edition of its recently launched – V5 Plus in matte black colour.

Without making any changes to the original variant, the Vivo V5 Plus, Limited Edition smartphone comes with an embossed IPL mascot at the back.

The Vivo V5 Plus smartphone was initially launched in India in January, priced at Rs 27,980. The dual-SIM selfie-focused smartphone runs on the company's Funtouch OS 3.0, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Vivo V5 Plus sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display, and is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC that's coupled with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone packs 64GB of inbuilt storage that's non-expandable.

Its biggest highlight is its dual front camera setup which sports a 20MP camera with the Sony IMX376 1/2.78-inch sensor, a f/2.0 aperture, and a 5P lens system, and a secondary 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture that captures depth information in an image. On the rear, Vivo V5 Plus bears a 16-megapixel sensor with LED flash.

V5 Plus offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS connectivity options. It measures 152.8x74.00x7.26 mm and weighs 158.6 grammes and is powered by a 3055mAh battery in India.

The new Vivo smartphone will be available from April 10 via Flipkart, retail stores, and Vivo-exclusive stores. The company is yet to disclose the price of the limited edition.
