Viber is reaching out to Indian startup companies like Zopper, ObiNo, Vuclip and many others by opening its public chat system to the fledgling businesses. Viber public chats allow users to connect with friends on a public forum and to follow as well be part of conversation streams of celebrities and brands.
Viber’s messaging platform will help the startups and new brands to reach out to new people and improve their visibility. "In a world run by social media platforms, it is imperative to leverage platforms such as public chats for a more targeted approach," said AnubhavNayyar, regional head at Viber South Asia.
Startups already know about big paybacks of using public chats that allow them to reach out to targeted audience. It not only gives them an idea about fan following but works as a tool for quick dissemination of useful and compelling content, and helps get quick feedback too.
Viber launched it's public chats near the end of 2014 to expand their scope. KhauGaliDeals, a food tech startup joined Viber Public Chats a couple of weeks back to reach out to their target audience and expand its user base. The move did give them a boost and the company is now expanding to around 25 cities across the country.
Another startup Zooper has become quite popular on Viber Live Chats. This startup registered itself on the platform just a month ago and they already have more than 500 followers.
"One of the main things that sets it apart from other social media channels like Facebook is that our posts are seen by or exposed to all our followers versus the minimal organic reach of a startup's Facebook page," said Ritu Soni Srivastava, founder of ObiNo.
