Viber is addressing one of the bugging concerns of what happens to the photos, videos, or posts shared with a particular person. Well, there are always two options- either the posts end up with that receiver only, or they could be forwarded to thousands of other people. With Viber, you can be rest assured that your photos will be disappeared, just after the recipient has seen them.
Viber has launched “Secret Messages,” that allows users to designate which photos or videos remain in the archives of a chat before they hit “send.”
The new feature lets you set a timer for images you want to share. A photo can be sent to a recipient with a fixed view time of 1, 3, 7 or 10 seconds. Once the prefixed time is up, the recipient will only see a record that something was shared but will be unable to view the photo.
The secret messages feature is available for iOS and Android devices, and also works for group chats or one-to-one chats using Viber.
Similarly, users can also send video with the choice of viewing the content only once before it disappears from the archive.
Viber already allows users to delete a conversation on both their phone and the recipients’ phones.
Recently, Viber, which is owned by Rakuten Inc announced that it has 800 million registered users and 260 million active users.
