MUMBAI, INDIA:Veritas Technologies and Microsoft announced a multi-year global, strategic partnership to help organizations use Microsoft Azure to optimize for hybrid cloud environments and to host Veritas’ Enterprise Vault cloud management and governance service on Azure.
Veritas also announced a technology alliance with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver Veritas 360 Data Management capabilities to enterprises leveraging AWS infrastructure -- accelerating migration to the cloud and improving the management of applications and data across hybrid cloud environments.
The collaboration further supports the commitment from Veritas to help enterprise IT organizations successfully navigate their journey to the cloud.
As customers continue adopting cloud into their architectures, Veritas, through its software-driven approach, helps enterprises to integrate and move data and applications environments at their desired pace while protecting legacy hardware and software investments, retaining visibility and governance over data, and future choice over infrastructure.
“Our customers are consistently looking for ways to run their existing on-premises services across their AWS deployments,” said Bill Vass, Vice President, Storage Services, AWS. “Veritas customers will now have even greater opportunities to reduce costs and increase productivity while accelerating their journey to the cloud.”
“Today, our strengthened partnership delivers deeper integration, allowing customers to more easily take advantage of the flexibility and enterprise-grade reliability that Azure provides,” said Jason Zander, corporate vice president, Microsoft Azure team.
The partnership includes collaboration to enable and jointly sell hybrid cloud storage solutions to mutual customers to provide a comprehensive, simple and cost-effective approach to managing data in the cloud.
Such hybrid cloud storage solutions will enable customers to take advantage of the cloud to reduce their storage costs while increasing business agility, and to extract greater value from their data, once stored in the cloud, through the full suite of Azure cloud services, including advanced analytics and machine learning.
“Today’s announcement marks a pivotal milestone towards accelerating cloud initiatives for our mutual customers, and it begins with more efficient ways to move their data to the Azure cloud,” said Mike Palmer, executive vice president and Chief Product Officer, Veritas.
