BENGALURU, INDIA: The online furniture and home décor company, Urban Ladder has added a new feature in its app to empower the users to design their own rooms.
The new user experience is designed keeping in the mind the consumer behaviour and the high traction the company gets from its mobile app.
The feature allows users to visualize and design the look before buying the furniture and décor products. A user just needs to follow these simple steps:
1. Choose a background and flooring that resembles the room you want to create.
2. Select products and match them with the décor and the design of the virtual room you have created.
3. The images of the products can be rotated and placed according to the space that best suits your taste.
4. Once you finalize the look, submit it to be featured on the Urban Ladder website and app for other visitors to also take a look.
5. Join the community of users who have created their own rooms or homes and shared their thoughts on the website or the app.
“We have been observing a growing trend of customers opting to buy furniture for an entire space rather than seeking individual pieces and that led to the decision of building this new feature. We will continue to bring more innovation in the app for next 18 months," said Rajiv Srivatsa, COO & co-founder, Urban Ladder.
The next version of the feature will help users see how products fit in their own home and office spaces, get personalized recommendations while creating the new looks for their space. It will encourage social sharing also to help them interact with other look creators.
The recently appointed CTO, Apurva Dalal, who has experiences in solving technology challenges with Google, eBay and WebMD - will be focusing on further development of the app and other back-end technologies.
The app which is available on Android and iOS platforms already has added the new feature in its Android version and significant improvement in the decision making process. The company will be adding this feature on its iOS app shortly.
Urban ladder also plans to improve its presence in 17 cities and expand it to 30 cities by the end of this year.
