Blake Ross, the founder of Firefox and former Facebook executive will join Uber to work with them on product strategy, Uber confirmed.
Ross announced it on Facebook, where he once worked as director of product.
“I’m joining Uber to help develop product strategy, rally the troops, and improve my passenger rating,” quipped Ross.
Blake Ross got his start at Netscape in the early 2000s and eventually helped create the Firefox browser. After that, he co-founded a startup named Parakey, which he sold to Facebook. He left the social media giant in 2013.
This news comes just days after Uber announced its new CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. The CEO role at Uber had been vacant since June when Travis Kalanick was forced to resign amidst a deluge of lawsuits and controversies.
