CIOL Uber debuts UberPass in select Indian cities

Following in the footsteps of arch-rival, Ola, Uber has also introduced Pass feature for its users in select Indian cities. Uber India has started the pilot of UberPass in four metros namely Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata.

Though the cost of the pass varies from one city to the other, the said feature will give users the ability to opt for discounted fares, get a waiver on cancellation charges, and opt for highly rated drivers among other exclusive features.

"We are always thinking of new ways to enhance the Uber experience for our riders. UberPASS is one such product designed to offer riders using our service for their daily commute, a seamless and consistent ride experience. We are excited to launch UberPass as a pilot for riders in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata and if our riders give us a thumbs up, we will take this to riders in other cities as well," said Shailesh Sawlani, the General Manager for West, Uber India.

As per the plan, select riders in the four mentioned cities will receive an email from Uber, and all such riders who receive the email will be eligible for various offers, which could include flat fares on their UberGO rides too.

Earlier, Uber also introduced ‘Uber FLAT49 Pass in Chandigarh as part of a promotional campaign in April 2017. The service has been rolled out in select cities of the US as well.
