Well, the video says it all. And, I am sure Travis Kalanick is regretting grooving to Don’t wanna know from Maroon 5 in that taxi that night.
On a more serious note, Kalanick on Tuesday said it was time for him to "grow up" and get help after this video clip showed him arguing with some Uber driver Fawzi Kamel over company's business model and what effect it has had on the driver’s pay. The 40-year-old Kalanick responds angrily that some people don't take responsibility for their own actions telling Kamel his claims are, “bulls**t.”
This one is the latest in the series of embarrassments that the world's most valuable startup has been grappling with in the past few weeks including accusation of intellectual theft, a sexual harassment claim from a former Uber engineer and a previous #deleteuber campaign.
To douse some of this fire, Kalanick then wrote a profound apology saying that he was ashamed for treating the driver disrespectfully, and he apologized to the driver and others.
"It’s clear this video is a reflection of me - and the criticism we’ve received is a stark reminder that I must fundamentally change as a leader and grow up. This is the first time I’ve been willing to admit that I need leadership help and I intend to get it," he wrote.
