Twitter has officially launched tweet threads that will allow people to post tweetstorms more easily. Tweetstorms are multiple tweets that are stitched together to share more information.
When you create a tweet on Twitter, you can use the "+" button to add more tweets to the original tweet in the compose window. All of your tweets can be drafted ahead of time and then sent out at once using the new "Tweet All" button.
An "add another tweet" button is being added to the Twitter application, along with a "show this thread" label that can be clicked to see posts woven together by authors.
The move comes just a month after
Twitter doubled the limit for tweets in most languages to 280 characters, in a bid to draw in more users and boost engagement. It was the first time the character cap was raised since the micro-blogging platform was founded.
Twitter says the new Threads feature is rolling out to iOS, Android, and the web "in the coming weeks."
