Twitter said that it is "focusing efforts on a great Twitter experience that's consistent across platforms" so users will have to use the website, Tweetdeck or third-party apps.
The app hasn't been quite popular with the masses with the average user rating of a dismal 1.7 out of 5 in the App Store. The Verge reported that Twitter had outsourced the development of the app to a studio in Seattle called Black Pixel.
The average user rating suggests that the app won't be missed much by the users. So, Twitter can divert all its energies towards the development of the web and mobile app.
