WhiteHat Jr Founder Karan Bajaj has announced his resignation as the company's CEO, exactly a year after BYJU'S acquired the kids' coding platform. Announcing his exit, Bajaj states that he intends to further his career in public service post-resignation. “I will be fully present in transition for the immediate period; then intend to carve out a career in public service next. I'll define the exact contours it’ll take in a few months while pursuing my interests in writing etc., so I have all the time in the world if you reach out anytime,” he said.
Karan Bajaj was also responsible for BYJU'S Future School; the initiative that aims to offer an interactive learning platform that blends real-time instruction with lessons. The company aimed to generate creative outcomes for kids aged between 6-18 years. The course, blended with coding, would further help students learn concepts while creating applications. He hands over all the reins to Trupti Mukker, Karan's colleague and classmate from IIM-B.
Who is Trupti Mukker, the new CEO of WhiteHat Jr?
Trupti Mukker, the Head of Customer Experience and Delivery, BYJU'S/WhiteHat Jr will now head the organization. Trupti joined BYJU'S/WhiteHat Jr in December 2020, to aid customer experience between students-teachers. Mukker takes over from Karan Bajaj, all his responsibilities including the FutureSchool. “I am inspired, excited, and challenged - all at the same time; with the tremendous opportunity to lead a phenomenal organization, founded and nurtured by the two greatest visionaries in EdTech - Karan Bajaj and Byju Raveendran,” said Trupti in a LinkedIn post. “With Byju’s deep commitment to making great education accessible to kids across the world, through best of synchronous and asynchronous learning, we are geared exceptionally well to make children across the world Creators for Life with Confidence, Curiosity, and Compassion.”
Mukker comes from an Operations background having worked with Wipro for over 8 years. She has also worked with Genpact and had a brief stint with The Skills Academy and GE Capital. An IIM-Bangalore alumnus, Trupti Mukker was a classmate of Karan Bajaj. Talking about Trupti, Byju Raveendran, co-founder of BYJU'S, said, “In a short span of 7 months, Trupti has been a great asset to the organization, delivering unmatched student and teacher experience as witnessed in our record NPS scores and will bring her 20+ years of progressive, global leadership experience to continue expanding and scaling the organization.”
About BYJU’S Future School
According to the company, the Future School aims to cross the bridge from passive to active learning. For that, it aims to offer an interactive learning platform that blends real-time instruction with lessons. They aim to generate creative outcomes for kids aged between 6-18 years. The course, blended with coding, will further help students learn concepts while creating applications. Other subjects like Math, Science, English, Music, and Fine arts will help students engage in learning through storytelling.
The company has also stated that they will launch the Future School in the USA, UK, Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, and Mexico in May. They will further progressively expand to more geographies. Over 11 thousand Indian women teachers will lead the courses. Moving ahead, they will hire teachers for non-English speaking countries like Brazil and Mexico. In these countries, the Future School will offer the coding curriculum in Spanish as well as Portuguese. It will further onboard qualified women teachers to engage with students in these two countries.

WhiteHat offers one-on-one classes with an expert and also offers classes to kids ages 6-14. It offers four levels of courses – Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Professional – for students in grades 1-9. The startup claims to have a revenue run rate of $150 million.
