Being the world's fastest growing smartphone market, India has been witnessing ever-increasing share of interest from the titans of the smartphone market. From Apple to Google to Samsung or the Chinese makers like Oppo, Vivo or Xiaomi, everyone is trying its best to make the most out of the opportunity.
Though features like thin body, sharpest screens, powerful hardware, new and personalised features, etc., are quite engaging and USPs in their own right, but surely not as much as the camera features. Because users want to seize everything in their 5.5-inch smartphones, packing the best camera features is crucial for every smartphone company.
Even though smartphone photography has grown rapidly over the past few years, it can still be difficult to find a mobile device with a decent front-facing camera. So let us help you with a list of best selfie camera phones:
OnePlus 3T:
Breaking the traditional way of launching one flagship a year, One Plus launched its 3T version last year, just six months after the launch of its predecessor. And it seems the decision has turned out to be a good one. Focusing more on the front-facing camera, One Plus launched 3T with superior 16 MP sensors (double the 8MP sensors of One Plus 3) in both the front and back cameras, "giving your day-to-day photos and videos a professional edge."
The front-facing camera also comes with a f/2.0 aperture, which helps when shooting in low-light scenarios. The camera intelligently combines pixels to gather more light and reduce noise. This results in clearer, more colourful photos, hence better selfies!
One Plus 3T, which is available only on Amazon.in, will cost you Rs 30,000.
Oppo F3 plus:
Oppo F3 Plus has a 16MP+8MP dual front camera set up, and you can easily name this phone one of the best among Android smartphones. The 16MP resolution comes with a 1/3-inch sensor and f2.0 aperture, while the 8MP is a wide-angle lens with 8-megapixel resolution and 120-degree angle 6-element lens.
The selfie phone comes with a 16 megapixel 1/2.8-inch Sony IMX398 sensor with 1.4-micron pixels, 120-degree wide angle lens, f1.7 aperture and dual PDAF.

The rear camera has a similar 13-megapixel sensor, with a f/2.0 aperture and the laser autofocus system that is available in Asus ZenFone 2 Laser.
Both cameras have 5P large lenses, Toshiba sensors, blue glass filters, and dual-tone LED flashes. The camera shoots well in indoor settings while producing average outdoor shots that often appear washed out in daylight. Asus ZenFone Selfie price in India starts from Rs 9,999.
Sony Xperia XZ:
Touted as the phone's USP, Xperia XZ's camera is packed with many features to back this claim. With added triple image sensing technology to analyse, adapt and capture perfect shots in challenging conditions, Xperia XZ comes loaded with the advanced photography technology. A Sony IMX300 1/2.3” 23MP image sensor with on-sensor phase detection is accompanied by a laser that measures the distance to its subject to improve AF speed and accuracy in low light.
At the front, there is a 13MP 1/3" sensor with F2.0 aperture and 1080p video backed by an improved Sony Bionz For Mobile image processor with a price tag of Rs 39,990 (Flipkart price).
Google Pixel and Pixel XL:
Google Pixel packs a 12-megapixel primary camera on the rear and an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies. Google has also introduced Pixel Camera to go along with the Pixel’s 12-megapixel camera. With features like white balance control and exposure compensation, it’s a lot more capable than the old Nexus camera app. A new "smart burst" mode captures a stream of shots, and Google uses artificial intelligence to choose the clearest, best shot.
The camera also uses HDR+ by default with "zero shutter lag" to achieve the maximum dynamic range for each shot.
