Tata Communications have teamed up with Omate to launch Omate x Nanoblock, a smartwatch for kids with enhanced security features
Laurent Le Pen, Founder, and CEO, Omate, said, "Given the growing threat of cyber-crime, any device or application aimed at children must be safeguarded with the highest levels of security. What sets the Omate x Nanoblock apart
from other children's smartwatches is the extra security layer provided by the global private network of Tata Communications MOVE - IoT ConnectT. It means that parents can keep track of and in touch with their kids in
real-time, but no data on the network can be intercepted by unscrupulous individuals."
The Omate x Nanoblock comprises features such as SOS alerts, two-way voice, and video chatting and location tracking, as well as a three-day battery life, an alarm, pedometer, stopwatch, two-way voice chat services and front-facing camera. The smartwatch has a built-in SIM card with 100MB data per month. Like other subscription-based smartwatches, the Omate x Nanoblock will come with a one-year data plan starting from $179.
The smartwatch is available in two colors- white and black. The Omate x Nanoblock will be available for pre-order in April on Omate.com and will start shipping in June 2018 exclusively in the US and in Europe. Meanwhile, the upcoming smartwatch will be unveiled at Tata Communications' stand in Hall 2 H30 at MWC'18.
