While Microsoft revealed their newest Surface device on its Microsft EDU event earlier this month, Panos Panay, Microsoft's Vice President for Surface Computing also revealed Spotify will be coming to Windows Store, demoing it in front of the press with the help of Surface dial as volume control.
With Spotify on Windows 10, you can enjoy, discover and share millions of songs wherever and whenever they want. The Spotify app in the Windows Store is identical to the desktop app that is available online, and the only major change is that Spotify will now be updated through the Windows Store.
The Spotify team explains "While Spotify has had a Windows app(Win 32) for many years, this marks the first time that the Spotify app has been made available to download in the Windows Store. The partnership with Microsoft to bring the Spotify app to the Windows Store is part of Spotify's commitment making it easy and possible for users to enjoy music however and whenever they want".
Spotify will now be available for the newly announced Windows 10 S for students. However, it is not known if the Spotify app will replace its previous mobile app, but it is confirmed that it will be available on Windows 10 PCs.
