While the market is abuzz with latest iPhones and Galaxy Note 8, Sony has quietly launched its latest flagship, which was announced last month at the IFA 2017 - Xperia XZ1. The smartphone comes with Android 8.0 out of the box and is priced at Rs 44,990 and will be available on all online and offline platforms starting September 25.
The Xperia XZ1 has a premium aluminum unibody design and is IP68 certified (water and dust resistant). It has a 5.2-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with HDR10 support and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The device comprises of the Snapdragon 835 processor which is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The device is powered by 2,700 mAH battery with support for fast charging.
In terms of optics, the phone has the 19MP MotionEye camera with 3D scanning abilities as its highlighted feature. You get f2.0 aperture, laser and phase detection autofocus, and 960fps video recording (at 720p HD) and 4k video recording. For selfie lovers, it has a 13MP front-facing wide-angle camera with f2.0 aperture. The XZ1 is also the first smartphone to ship with Google's latest operating system, Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
Other features include Hybrid dual SIM slot, expandable storage, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C, Hi-res audio and stereo speakers. For connectivity, the XZ1 has 4G with VoLTE, dual-band WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC.
Users buying the Xperia XZ1 with HDFC and ICICI cards can avail 5 percent cash back on the purchase of the device. Sony has also announced a style stand cover for the Xperia XZ1 priced at Rs 3,490.
