Slack, the cloud-based set of proprietary team collaboration tools and services announced Allen Shim as the company's first-ever chief financial officer.
Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield said in a blog post," Today, I’m excited to announce another milestone: Allen Shim has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for Slack. This is a new position for us and a promotion for Allen, who has been my right hand from the earliest days."
Shim has been with Slack almost since its founding (employee number 20) and has former Wall Street experience as an equity research analyst with both Sanford C. Bernstein and Citigroup.
Butterfield added, "Slack is emerging as a different kind of SaaS company, and he knows our business better than anyone. Allen is guiding us toward the next phase of our growth, and I can’t think of a leader better suited to the opportunity at hand."
Slack, launched in 2014, recently raised $250 million from SoftBank Group which valued the company at over $5 billion.
