Simplify data recovery method

CHENNAI, INDIA: System failure and data recovery was the main theme of discussion at the fourth Enterprise Connect Forum held here today.

“Focus should be on the simplification of the data recovery methods because data lost is nothing but production lost. There are near mathematical solutions available to rectify the problem,” said Venugopal Pai, senior director, Alliances, Riverbed Technology.

Murali Krishna of HP, Venugopal Pai of Riverbed and Sandeep Ghildiyal, practice head for Platform Consulting, Wipro spoke about how to accelerate business by eliminating distance, next generation intrusion management solutions and dwelt on different aspects of disaster recovery.

System failure is the core area companies have to focus on. The main concern is on the amount of data lost due to system failures and how quickly a company responds to recover the data lost were discussed by the experts.
