Samsung has announced the launch of Samsung Rewards program aimed at encouraging customers to use Samsung Pay.
Working on the lines of credit card rewards, it provides points whenever a user uses their Samsung Pay for a transaction. The points gathered through the program can then be exchanged for rewards including gift cards, Samsung products, and more from various U.S. retailers.
“Samsung Rewards works just like a points-based credit card rewards program. Every time you make a purchase with Samsung Pay, you earn rewards points. Samsung Rewards also allows you to ‘double dip’ on rewards points – that is, with every credit card purchase made via Samsung Pay, you may be able to earn points, miles or cash back from your card’s issuer, as well as points toward Samsung Rewards,” said the company in a statement.
Giving customers a new incentive to use Samsung Pay, the South Korean company has also introduced different tiers of reward levels based on thresholds of transactions.
A user gets “Silver” status for five payments in a month, which earns double the points. 20 transactions result in a “Gold” status, which delivers triple points, and 30 monthly Pay uses puts a user in the “Platinum” rewards group, where each purchase is worth four times the usual amount in points earned.
Not just this, Samsung Rewards is also offering various limited time offers for earning bonus points. These offers include using Samsung Pay during certain times, certain places, and more.
The rewards program will be launching this week in the U.S. for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, S6 Edge+, Note 5, Gear S2 and Gear S3 devices that offer Samsung Pay.
