Samsung launches Galaxy J2(2017) with 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display in India

Samsung has launched yet another budget smartphone for the customers in India. Named Samsung Galaxy J2(2017), the entry-level smartphone will be available in Absolute Black and Metallic Gold color variants. However, the company has not revealed any details about the availability and pricing of the device.

The device which is a successor to Galaxy J2 (2016) will feature a 4.7-inch qHD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device consists of 8GB of internal memory out of which only 4.3 GB is user accessible. It supports expandable storage via microSD card up to 128GB.

In terms of optics, the device sports a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash, and a 2-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include 4G, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Glonass, and 3.5mm audio jack. The dual-SIM handset supports USB on-the-go(USB OTG) and is backed by a 2,000 mAH battery.

The smartphone also comes with Ultra Data Saving mode that the company claims can help users save up to 50 percent data. The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) is being touted to come with Smart Manager for automatic memory management which will help delete duplicate images on the device automatically, and also delete saved APK files.

While the pricing of the device is not available from the company, Mumbai based Mahesh Telecom has reported the device to be priced at Rs 7,390.
