Samsung recently introduced its range of curved led monitors at an event, but the highlight of the event was a 49-inch QLED 4k display monitor. Named the CHG90, the 49- inch monitor integrates Samsung’s Quantum dot technology and High Dynamic Range to project a 32:9 aspect ratio and double full HD resolution. It also has an ultra-wide 178-degree viewing angle, which ensures content visibility from any angle.
"These QLED gaming monitors are the gateway to the future of gaming for casual, enthusiastic and competitive gamers alike, and we’re looking forward to building upon these game-changing technologies to further meet the needs of gamers, developers, and partners in the coming years," said Seog-gi Kim, Executive VP, enterprise business at Samsung Electronics.
In addition to the 49-inch monitor, Samsung also introduced two smaller (27-inch and 31.5-inch) iterations of the same. It is worth noticing that all the monitors come integrated with all the above technology.
The aforementioned monitors are the first to feature AMD’s Radeon Free Sync 2, which is designed to provide smoother graphics performance. It helps to eliminate the stuttering and tearing of the frames, which is very common among power- intensive games.
Scott Herkelman, Corporate VP and GM, Gaming, Radeon Technologies, AMD said in a statement: "We applaud Samsung Electronics for launching the first FreeSync 2 capable displays and believe these gorgeous monitors should be on every gaming enthusiast’s list".
These gaming monitors will be showcased at Samsung’s E3 booth and will require you to shell out $599, $699 and $1499 – priced in ascending order of screen size. Shipping is expected in late June or early July.
