Samsung will unveil its next flagship smartphone Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus in February, according to a Bloomberg report. The report says that Samsung is planning to release the models in March. The new devices will follow Samsung's popular Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will likely be the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset and an optically-stabilized dual-camera setup. They are expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung’s own customisation but the company is not providing any concrete information about the product. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will sport the same 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch, edge-to-edge Super AMOLED "Infinity Display", with the curved screen intact.
In terms of other specifications, the Galaxy S9+ is likely to offer 6GB of RAM. The 3.5mm headphone jack is also likely to stay intact.
Both the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus were launched at a premium price. The Galaxy S8 was launched at a price of Rs 57,990 in India and the Galaxy S8 plus at Rs 64,990. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are also expected to be expensive than their predecessors when they go on sale in India.
