Some Galaxy Note 8 owners have reported that they are experiencing battery issues with the device. Some users even reported that their devices won't turn on after the battery is completely depleted. Samsung has acknowledged the issue saying that only a few number of handsets are affected.
Samsung told German-language site PCWelt, "Samsung is taking all reports of this kind seriously, we only received a very small number of customer inquiries that could be linked to charge management, and unfortunately, we can only comment on the matter further."
Apart from the Galaxy Note 8, the battery issue has also surfaced in some Galaxy S8 and S8+ users. There have been reports about the battery issue surfacing on Galaxy Tab S3.
It’s unclear what’s causing this strange battery issue, and how it can be prevented. It’s likely that Samsung will fix the issues down the road. But if you’re a Galaxy Note 8 user, you should make sure your data is backed up regularly. There’s no way of knowing whether your phone suffers from the same condition unless you completely drain the battery.
Apple also faced a similar issue with their iPhones which failed to function properly in extreme cold. Furthermore, Apple is currently facing a lot of criticism after admitting that it slows down iPhones with old lithium-ion batteries in order to prevent unexpected shutdowns.
