Saavn unveils new app for iPhone, iPad

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Saavn, the world's largest Indian music streaming service, announced its revamped iOS application, Saavn Music for iPhone and iPad (version 3.0).

The new Saavn app brings the best music front and center, with easy access to songs in 11 languages and direct entry to Saavn Radio from the app homescreen. The update includes full-screen album art in the Saavn player, and, for the first time, delivers a unique iPad user interface, maximizing screen real estate and usability for iPad Users.

Saavn also announced plans for a revamped Android application, expected for release at the end of the month, in parallel with the new iOS app. Saavn is collaborating with Google's Android teams on the development of Saavn 3.0 for Android.

Since the launch of the new app, daily streams on Saavn Music for iOS have increased by 20 percent overall, while streams in newly-surfaced languages like Tamil and Kannada have surged by about 50 percent. Saavn Radio streams have grown by 7.5x, and daily unique users on Saavn have increased by 10 percent.
