Remove China Apps is an Android app that claims to identify China-made apps on your Android phone. It will help you remove them from the phones and that the reason it has gone viral in India. Currently, the app is at the top spot of Google Play's top free apps list. Over 10 lakh users have downloaded it since May 17.
India is following the Anti-China sentiment. First, it had rated down Tik Tok ti 1.1 stars, and now it is banning the use of Chinese products. In this development, the Remove China Apps has further provided the path to know what apps are China-built and moving forward, remove them.
The first movement sparked post the novel coronavirus pandemic. Later, the India-China border dispute has increased the hatred of China amongst Indians.

OneTouch AppLabs developed the App for educational purposes. The aim was to identify the origin of the app. But as the name suggests, the app is only used to find Chinese apps i.e Apps built in China. But then, we still don't know if it is full proof or not. Remove China Apps is free to download on Google Play Store. The app does not require a login to a function and users can simply select "scan" to identify the Chinese apps on their Android phones. Further, it only detects apps downloaded externally, and not pre-installed apps. Chinese smartphone's apps also go undetected on the app.
But if you are going to use it, just download the app, and scan your device. You don't need to log-in. After the scanning is complete, the app will give a list of all the app that are China-based.

Anti-China sentiments are on the rise. These may be due to some controversial stuff like Youtube vs Tik Tok fight. Further, the India-China dispute and the COVID-19 pandemic in the country fueled the feelings. A survey recently indicated that 67% of Indians hold China responsible for the spread of COVID-19 pandemic (Takshashila Institution).
Therefore, due to these controversies, several Indians are now looking for alternatives to Chinese products and phone apps. Recently, another app called Mitron crossed over 50 Lakh downloads on Google Play Store. Many believe that this is India's response to China's TikTok. However, a recent report indicated that the Mitron app's source code was purchased from a Pakistani firm.
