Reliance vs Coronavirus: Data Services of JioFiber, 4G Data doubled up

Reliance Industries is one of the largest business groups in the world. This time is no different. As the coronavirus pandemic has taken the world by storm and turned towards India now, people are under mandatory lockdown.

The Government of India has laid compulsory guidelines work-from-home. People have turned towards the entertainment industry and OTTs like Netflix and Amazon Prime for passing their time. Thus, Reliance Jio has offered free 10Mbps broadband to new users and doubled the data for the existing users. Under their #CoronaHaregaIndiaJeetega initiative, the company will provide data services for people to work from home without any extra cost. The offer is subject to geographical feasibility. Reliance started this initiative as the Internet is the primary means of communication today. The company wants to make sure that in such crucial times, the mobility services stay up.

Reliance Jio has also announced an upgrade in its 4G Data vouchers. The revised smallest voucher of INR 11 will now offer 800 MB instead of 400 MB data. It will also include 75 non-jio calling minutes. Similarly, the INR 21 and INR 51 packs have doubled up as well. They will provide 2GB and 6GB data respectively and 200 and 500 voice minutes each. The INR 101 4G data top-up will now provide 12GB data and 1000 non-jio minutes. The doubled-up data plans are only available for top-up packs.

Reliance Retail will be closed across the country. Under the essential commodities regulation, Reliance Fresh will stay open.
