Amid constant pressure from incumbent telecom operators and TRAI, Reliance Jio is yet to stop reaching to as many people as possible. Moving in the same direction, Reliance Jio has partnered with Snapdeal to deliver Jio Sim cards to customers homes.
Though the report is yet to be confirmed by both the companies, FirstPost report says, that e-commerce platform has started sending emails to Snapdeal customers for the free home delivery of SIM cards as a ‘token of gratitude’.
Snapdeal will deliver Reliance Jio SIM cards, which will come with Jio’s current Happy New Year Offer, to select areas and will activate the SIM cards at the time of delivery.
Users need to register their contact details and area of delivery with Snapdeal. The website also mentions that users can select the time slot for SIM card delivery. However, according to the report, the service is currently available “in select locations” only.
Once the order is placed, customers will be sent an SMS with the scheduled delivery time and the promo code. As the procedure is followed in a store for SIM card purchase, users will be asked to share their Aadhaar number and the promo code with the Snapdeal delivery executive to activate their Reliance Jio SIM immediately.
On the other hand, Reliance Jio is already running an invite-based pilot programme to deliver its SIM cards to customers’ homes within 30 minutes. Currently, in beta phase, the programme is being rolled out area-wise in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, and Visakhapatnam.
