Qikship, a Delhi-based on-demand logistics company, has completed its angel round of funding by raising US $200k from a team of investors which will be used to build next-generation technology for simplifying the logistics and create technology packed solutions. The startup, with a team of 50, plans to hire over 150 pickup agent in two months to establish its operation in Delhi and Gurgaon and reach per day transaction of 3000- 3500.
Founded by Vikrant Pathak, Ex IES (IIT Delhi & HEC Paris) and Gaurav Tyagi, Ex Zomato Sales head India in September 2015, Qikship is a logistic service which enables the user to ship anything and everything by using its app or web. Currently, Qikship is doing over 300-400 shipments per day with an average ticket size of INR 200/-. According to the company, the major part of its business comes from online sellers and SMEs.
Qikship works on a 45 minutes time cap in which it picks up the package and wraps it up. It also provides a tracking facility to its customers. Once the parcel is booked by the customer, the app notifies him/her about the estimated delivery date and keeps him or her posted about the movement of the package with a point to point tracking.
According to a report by Research and Markets, Indian logistics market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 12.17 percent by 2020, pushed by the growth in the manufacturing, retail, FMCG and e-commerce sectors, while the third-party logistics expected to be worth $301.89 billion by 2020.
