A survey conducted by Numr Research revealed that the top-selling smartphone brands like Xiaomi, Samsung and Vivo are less popular among consumers than Oppo, OnePlus and Huawei. Oppo got the top spot in the survey revealed the Net Promoter Score (NPS) for various smartphone brands in India.
About 500 respondents, aged between 25 and 60 years, shared their responses. Net Promoter Score, popularly known as the NPS, is a metric for calculating customer satisfaction and loyalty. In this survey, respondent recommends a company/brand/service on a scale of 0-10. Higher score means customers are highly satisfied with the brand.
In the recent survey, oppo got the topmost spot followed by OnePlus and Huawei. Popular brands like Apple (NPS of 68), Xiaomi (NPS of 66), Lenovo (NPS of 64) and Samsung (NPS of 63) follow them in a closely fought battle. While Vivo fell far behind with a score of only 25.
Amitayu Basu, CEO, Numr Research said, "This fiercely competitive market now has multiple products at every imaginable price point. In this environment, the NPS score helps in predicting who will win the war. With OPPO leading the way with 84 per cent NPS score, world leaders like Samsung and Apple are left to lick their wounds in their ever decreasing market share pie."
The survey respondent reported that 52 per cent currently own only one smartphone, and 42 per cent have two. Another 5 per cent reported having three personal smartphones, while 1 per cent has four and more.
