Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and CEO of OYO took to Twitter yesterday to announce that the company has rolled out a feature in the OYO Care App that will allow COVID-19 positive individuals to use its infrastructure for quarantine and isolation. For this, OYO has tied up with over 30 hospitals, several government authorities and private sector companies. It has thus opened up its properties in the wake of the rising Covid crisis.
As the Indian healthcare infrastructure has proven insufficient, many startups are lending their support to the government. In fact, even last year, OYO Care had tied up with several hospitals, ministries and government authorities. It offered quarantine facilities for stranded tourists, frontline workers, the medical community and asymptomatic patients. Last year, the company announced OYO care features on Indian Independence Day. It aimed to support the quarantine, self-isolation and accommodation requirements of front-line workers and corporates.
