Oppo has launched yet another smartphone, but this time in China. The phone named Oppo A83 comes with facial recognition technology and comes with a 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone will be available from 29 December in China and is priced at CNY 1,399. The smartphone is available in Champagne Gold and Black color options.
Apart from sporting a 5.7-inch HD display, the phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and is powered by 2.5 GHz octa-core processor. The device offers 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
In terms of photography, the Oppo A83 comes with a 13-megapixel sensor with an LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. The main highlight of the phone is the facial recognition technology which is available on only premium smartphones. The facial recognition technology on the phone uses 128 unique feature points of the user’s face. Oppo claims that the face unlock feature can unlock the smartphone within 0.18 seconds.
The phone is backed by 3,090mAh battery. Other features include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE with VOLTE, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and a micro USB port for charging.
