Earlier, Amazon had started selling unboxed and refurbished electronic products on Junglee, a few months before it did so on its primary website. So, it has now integrated its P2P selling platform Junglee with its own horizontal marketplace to allow individuals to sell new and used items online.

Interestingly, this move gives Amazon an upper hand above its biggest competitor Flipkart in India. However, it also opens doors for new competitions like Olx, Ebay and Quikr. This innovative point-of-sale payments service for local merchants using technology is definitely a welcome move.

In order to list your products, users need a valid Amazon account. After which, users can add used or new products to be sold in categories including books, fashion jewelry, mobiles, watches, video games, laptops, and tablets. The item for sale will be uploaded along with a mandatory photo, title and price, and other personal details for pick-up.

This advertisement for sale is then posted on Amazon, and if someone shows an interest, a doorstep pickup is arranged by the company. Amazon picks, packs and ships the product, and the merchant will receive their money in 3 to 5 days time.
