Oculus has issued a software update to address the Oculus Rift headset shutdown problem. You'll need to download a patch from the official website and have it "repair" your Oculus software.
All the Oculus Rift headsets faced a problem due to a single expired certificate. For an entire day, gamers were unable to use the headset. The problem was an expired certificate in the Oculus Runtime Service, which needs to be updated. The file in question, OculusAppFramework.dll, will throw an error to this effect when the Oculus Store attempts to launch.
Facebook's VP of VR, Hugo Barra issued an apology for the global shutdown.
I want to apologize to everyone who was affected by yesterday's downtime with @OculusRift. Those affected will receive an automatic $15 store credit.
Thank you all for your patience, and we're here to help if you need support with the update https://t.co/OjcmYimqa2

Additionally, Oculus has also announced that it is providing a $15 credit to all affected customers. The credit is available to anyone who has used Rift since the beginning of February.
