Instagram is rolling out the much-awaited feature of sharing up to 10 photos and videos in one single post.
Instagram wrote in a blog post, “You no longer have to choose the single best photo or video from an experience you want to remember. Now, you can combine up to 10 photos and videos in one post and swipe through to see them all.”
It might look like, "Finally something original is coming from Instagram," but the fact is Instagram rolled out this feature almost two years ago. The feature was spotted earlier, but only for Android users. Now it looks like it will be made available for all.
The move is clearly aimed at bringing more content into the app. With 10 pictures or videos, users wont have to scratch their heads to push the perfect picture.
Instagram also suggested a variety of applications for the new format, from documenting surprise birthday party to showing the steps for making a recipe, or a DIY video.
To create a carousel, tap on the brand new button for selecting multiple photos that you will see in the news feed. Select the photos and videos you want to include; you can hold and drag the photos to post it any order. You can edit your pictures and videos individually or as a group. Users are allowed to put only one caption and location tag for your post. Similarly, the likes and comments will be displayed under the complete post.
The latest feature is available on Instagram version 10.9 for iOS, and on the Google Play Store for Android.
