Digital transformation or business automation is all about making your business future ready, however, challenges are there. In which legacy infra and cost are one of the major challenges. Though solutions are available enabling decade old hardware to communicate with the new hardware and software, the fear comes as cost.
In a discussion with Maria Anhalt, Vice President, Research and Development, IT Operations Management, Micro Focus, she talked open source which is lower in cost. Also, she mentioned that most of the companies are not worried about the cost as well.
Talking about the benefits about open source she said that it’s not about cost, because it’s open, it’s like how you leverage those automation capabilities. And if a customer decides for Open Source in monitoring space, which is like in very old space, very crowded space, if somebody has a low price segment in the Open Source and for good reason starts to grow, there’s M&A acquisition, then what we can do is operation breaches, you know, put this under the same umbrella, unify, consolidate everything, put the business value dashboard and then you go and people are very happy.
Saurabh Saxena, Country Director, Micro Focus India further explained that the basic fundamental is how we can get them to reuse their own assets. So as Maria mentioned if customers are already on Open source platform and IT operations management and you will see customers, because many of the customers have projects in silos and they buy tools in silos and they may not have a consistent policy across the board, which means you will have patches of open Source, patches of different flavors of solutions there, and then they want to actually have one single window, and the only solution that can do that is the Micro Focus operations page where we tell them to reuse the assets and get all the events into an operation page and as they scale up they can add more agents to manage the infrastructure and get one single one single console, that's what we do. Many customers are actually doing it in India as well.
