Netflix adds HDR support for Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Netflix, the global entertainment company has added Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to its list of HDR supported devices. The Note 8 is first from Samsung to get official Netflix HDR compatibility, first spotted by SamMobile.

The Note 8 would be joining the likes of LG V30, Sony Xperia XZ1, alongside Sony Xperia XZ Premium in getting Netflix HDR support. The LG G6 also features Netflix HDR streaming and is the only Android device that uses Dolby Vision. HDR offers high color contrast and richer color content right on the phone, according to the Netflix's support page.

The video streaming site is yet to support Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, and the Galaxy Tab S3 even though they are capable of displaying HDR videos.

Netflix subscribers with a 4K streaming plan can only access the HDR videos on their phones.
