The total number of mobile Internet subscribers in India reached 342.65 million in March with Bharti Airtel leading the chart, as per the data shared by Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha in the Parliament on Wednesday.
Amongst the 138 mobile Internet service providers shared by the minister, Bharti Airtel grabbed the top spot with 90.53 million Internet subscribers.
The second on the list was Vodafone with 67.55 million subscribers followed by Idea Cellular having 44.03 million users, Reliance Communications 39 million, BSNL 34 million, Aircel 22.44 million, Tata 21 million and Telenor 13 million.
Videocon, MTNL, and SistemaShyam (MTS) had Internet subscriber base close to 2 million while rest of the companies have less than 1 million users.
Out of the 34,26,54,750 mobile Internet subscribers as on March 31, 2016, Reliance Jio was listed in the chart with only 1 subscriber.
A maximum number of mobile Internet subscribers in an urban area are from Maharashtra with 19.72 million and EasternUP topped the chart in rural Internet segment with 11.21 million subscribers.
