The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made provisions to order retrieve your UID and EID so that you can request to reprint the Aadhaar. Aadhaar has become mandatory for various official purposes including filing income tax returns (ITR), getting a PAN card or to avail benefits of any government scheme. As you lost your Aadhaar, you may not have UID or EID to get a new Aadhaar card.

Step 1: Log-on to the official UIDAI (uidai.gov.in) website and hover your mouse pointer on the “My Aadhaar” menu. You will be able to see multiple options including “Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID”, click on it

Step 2: You have two options to choose from 1- Aadhaar Number (UID) and 2 - Enrollment ID (EID)

Step 3: Fill in required details Aadhaar Number (UID) or Enrollment ID (EID), Full name, email ID mobile no, etc. then add captcha code and click on “Send OTP”
Step 4: You would receive OTP on your registered email and mobile no, enter the same to verify your details.
Step 5: You would receive your UID or EID on your mail and mobile.

Note: If you haven’t registered your mobile no or email ID with Aadhaar, then you can visit your nearest Aadhaar centre to retrieve the same.

Once you have your UID or EID, you can download your e-Aadhaar.
