Lenovo showcased its latest line of Yoga convertible laptops, as well as new mixed and virtual reality products at the IFA 2017. Lenovo with its latest announcements of AR and mixed reality products attempts to jump on the bandwagon and make sure it isn’t left behind its rivals.
Lenovo Yoga 920-
Starting with the Yoga 920, which is a flagship product from the brand. The product features Intel's 8th generation quad-core i7 processor, a bezel-less 13.9-inch 4K IPS touchscreen display, Cortana support and pen capability. The device can flip 360 degrees like previous Yoga products. The pricing for Yoga 920 starts at $1329.99(approx. Rs. 85,000).
Lenovo Yoga 720 12-inch-
Next up is a 12-inch version of the Yoga 720, which the company describes as its “most portable and compact Yoga 720 model yet” at 0.62 inches thin and 2.53 pounds. Unfortunately, it’s still stuck on Intel’s seventh-generation processors. Lenovo has priced this product starting at $649.99 (approx. Rs. 45,000) and it starts shipping in October.
Lenovo Miix 520-
Lenovo Miix 520 is more of a tablet with a detachable keyboard. Miix 520 houses an 8th generation Intel i5 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM. It has an SSD with a storage capacity of 256GB. The device has 12.2-inch Full HD touchscreen display while it includes a keyboard and pen standard in the box. Lenovo will release the Miix 520 in October, starting at $999.99 (approx. Rs. 65,000).
Home Assistant Pack-
The Home Assistant Pack brings Amazon's Alexa to Lenovo's Tab 4 series tablets. The pack, which basically turns your tablet into a smart speaker, consists of a Home Assistant app, a three-watt speaker, and far-field voice detection with two microphones (search and hear your results from up to three meters from any direction, Lenovo promises).
Lenovo Explorer-
Lenovo also unveiled the Lenovo Explorer headset for Windows Mixed Reality at the event. The headset gear is an affordable tool for both entertainment and productivity and will be compatible with a wide range of PCs. The product will be released in October 2017 and will retail for $349 with an option to bundle up gaming controllers with the headset for additional $100.
Star Wars: Jedi Challenge bundles-
Lenovo has launched Star Wars: Jedi Challenge bundles which offers its customers a much immersive gaming experience. The bundle includes a smartphone-powered Lenovo Mirage AR headset, a lightsaber controller, and a tracking beacon. The lightsaber controller doubles up as a pointer for interacting with the UI. The product will be made available by the end of this year and will retail for $199 (approx. Rs. 13,000) in the US.
Looking at the products, it seems that Lenovo is all set to take over the AR, VR and mixed reality headsets market.
