Lenovo has announced an ARM-powered 2-in-1 detachable tablet/ laptop hybrid named Lenovo Miix 630 at the CES'18. The laptop is the first Snapdragon-powered Windows laptop, as part of Always Connected initiative from Microsoft.
The Lenovo Miix 630 2-in-1 comes with a 12-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixel and a detachable keyboard similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro. The Lenovo Miix 630 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. The 2-in-1 comes with 4GB or 8GB RAM and storage space ranges from 64GB, through 128GB and finally maxes out at 256GB. The Miix 630 sports a 13-megapixel autofocus camera on the back, while a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
The Miix 630 has a built-in SIM card slot. This means users won’t have to depend on mobile hotspot or Wi-Fi network all the time. The detachable laptop runs on Windows S, which is an optimised version of Windows 10 that takes less time to boot. Even when it’s on standby, it’s always connected to its cellular radio for downloading messages and emails in the background.
Other features include WiFi 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO and Bluetooth 4.2, while ports include a USB Type-C, an SD card reader, a combo audio jack, and a nano-SIM slot. The highlight of Lenovo Miix 630 claims to give a battery backup of 20 hours.
The Miix 630 will be available between April and June 2018, priced at $799(Rs 50,732).
