CIOL Jugnoo launches hyperlocal content platform, AskLocal

Chandigarh-based Jugnoo has launched AskLocal, a geo-location based, hyper-local content platform for users, to access locally relevant information. With this, Jugnoo, better known for its vast auto rickshaw network is introducing a new way to connect within cities based on relevant content, reviews, and recommendations.

“As the latest addition to our hyper-local package, AskLocal will help in enhancing user’s hyperlocal experience. With this feature, people would get to know their city better as anyone can ask or answer questions relevant to their immediate whereabouts. From urbanists, who wish to share their knowledge on the locale, to people new in town, we will be able to cater to every single individual’s hyper-local requirements from a single app,” said Saurabh Wadhawan, Chief Product Officer Jugnoo.

Just like Facebook and Twitter, which are friends-based and event-based content networks respectively, the AskLocal vertical offers a location-based content network. The feature will be geo-location based, allowing users to view local feeds for their city. It is part of the bouquet of hyperlocal services offered by Jugnoo that includes Rides, Meals, Fresh, and Menus.

AskLocal will also allow users to share content anonymously, making it a secure space for people to ask sensitive questions without any inhibitions. Moreover, people can also get recommendations on restaurants through the location-based feature, and order directly through ‘Menus’ on the Jugnoo app. They will also be able to tag their favourite restaurants.
