NTA had announced that it would conduct two exams for both April and May sessions at the end of July. The April session will happen from July 20 to July 25; the May session would've happened from July 27 to August 2. But the NTA has only last night announced that it has postponed the JEE Main May Session 4 again. The new dates for JEE Main Session 4 are from August 26 to September 2. Further, only BTech and BE students can appear for the April-to-July session 3; on the other hand, BArch and BPlanning students can appear for the May-to-August session 4.
Meanwhile, JEE Main Session 4 has already seen registration from 7.32 lacs students. Keeping in mind the extended date, NTA has also extended the registration date upto 20 July 2021. Further, NTA has announced that due to limited time, there will be no correction window available after the Application Form closes on 20 July 2021. Therefore the candidates have to be extra careful while filling in their particulars.
Three Important Points You Need to Know for JEE Main Session 4
Application reopening
After NTA received numerous representations from the candidates to re-open the Online Application window for JEE (Main) – 2021, it has decided to provide students with another opportunity to apply or withdraw their remaining JEE (Main) 2021 Sessions (April as well as May).
The last date to apply for the April → July session was July 13. Application forms for all (BTech, BE, BArch, BPlanning) for May → July/August opened on July 9. The last date to apply is July 20. Students will not receive an option to do any modifications in JEE Main session 4 forms post-application. Thus, they have to be extra careful while filling in their particulars.
Change of centre and other modifications
NTA has also assured that students who had already applied for JEE (Main) can apply for a change of centre. The NTA has also allowed candidates to withdraw their applications as well. However, students who have earlier applied now do not want to apply for the exams can withdraw their application form by clicking on the edit option from their application.
Test centres and cities for JEE Main 2021 increased
The National Testing Agency has increased the number of test cities this year. The test cities have been increased from 232 to 334. The number of cities has been increased to ease the process for students amid the pandemic. To ensure social distancing amid the pandemic and follow the SOPs, the NTA has also increased the number of test centres for JEE Main (April and May) sessions. Earlier, the total number of test centres was 660. The test centres have now been increased to 828.
