HRD minister had sought a report from a panel of experts headed by the director-general of National Testing Agency (NTA) Vineet Joshi. He wanted to know the feasibility of conducting the exams. Unlike all other guidelines issuers, NTA submitted the report by Friday. According to the report, NTA has postponed JEE Main and NEET 2020! HRD Minister tweeted the update:
Keeping in mind the safety of students and to ensure quality education we have decided to postpone #JEE & #NEET examinations. JEE Main examination will be held between 1st-6th Sept, JEE advanced exam will be held on 27th Sept & NEET examination will be held on 13th Sept. pic.twitter.com/klTjtBxvuw

JEE Mains and NEET postponed dates
JEE Main exam was going to happen from July 18 to 23, while NEET 2020 on July 26. Considering the pandemic, a large number of students were demanding its postponement. It was postponed once from May to July, and this is the second postponement. Min Pokhriyal announced on the recommendation that the panel of experts gave. He had formed the panel on Thursday.
Further, the JEE Main examination will be held between September 1 to 6, JEE Advanced exam will be held on September 27 and the NEET examination will be held on September 13.
The HRD Minister Ramesh Pokriyal ended the suspense for lakhs of aspirants. He also said that postponement is keeping in mind the safety of the students. He further said that this will relieve students and give them a chance to be more at ease while preparing for the exams.
Students had been signing online petitions and holding Twitter campaigns requesting the government to postpone the exams after they cancelled CBSE and ICSE. They are finally happy. Many students are disappointed, but on a brighter side, they will get more time to study.
