The much-anticipated device from Apple, iPhone X is going on sale today worldwide. The iPhone X starts at $999 in the US and significantly more in many other countries. In India, the device will go on sale at Apple authorized resellers from 6 pm onwards.
The iPhone X is the first phone from the company to feature OLED display and features a unique Face ID authentication system. The device does not have its iconic home button. The phone is designed with a glass back to allow for wireless charging and the frame, rather than being made of aluminum, is made from steel.
There's a 7-megapixel front-facing FaceTime HD camera. It is powered by the A11 Bionic processor which comes with a neural engine for supporting machine learning, augmented reality and 3D gaming. Shipping with Apple’s newest operating system, iOS 11, the iPhone X is the only device in Apple’s line up to support Animojis, wherein you can create and send face-mapped 3D emojis to your contacts.
The iPhone X is priced at Rs 89,000 for the 64 GB version while the 128 GB version is priced at Rs 1,02,000. The smartphone will be available in silver and Space grey colors. Accessories include a silicon case for Rs 3,500, going up to Rs 8,600 for a leather folio case.
The smartphone was put up for pre-orders on October 27 with various offers in India including Rs 10,000 cashback for Citibank credit card users, a Jio Buyback Offer, and more. Reliance Jio is offering 70 percent buyback offer on all units, while Airtel did not offer pre-orders, but is providing cashback for a limited period between 6 pm on November 3 and 7 am on November 4 via its online store.
