Officially announced in November, Instagram’s live video broadcasting feature is live now. The feature that started rolling out yesterday should be available to all the iOS and Android users in the US in the coming days.
Now along with #ootd #tbt, you can also show your followers real-time updates by broadcasting live video on the app's "stories" feature. You can live-stream for up to an hour and during your broadcast, you also have the option to pin comments or turn off comments altogether.
Considering that you can miss your friend’s live-streaming video easily amidst the crowd, you can also find a selection of the best video content at a particular time on the Explore page with a new option “Top Live”.
To start broadcasting, tap on the Stories camera and swipe over to "Live" mode. Viewers will know you're live with the "live" badge over your Story icon. However, there's a catch. All your followers will get a notification once you go on 'Live' mode.
Unlike Facebook Live and Periscope, Instagram’s latest Live-video feature aimed at personal video sharing doesn't provide the option to replay the video afterwards.
Recently, Instagram launched disappearing photos and videos feature for groups and friends in Instagram Direct.
