IIT JAM is one of the national level examination organized to offer admission into M.Sc., M.Sc. Ph.D., and M.Sc. Ph.D. dual degree etc. programs. The application portal will be on in two days at https://jam.iisc.ac.in/
First, the applicant needs to log into the JAM Online Application Process System website (JOAPS). There, he/she will have to provide the required information. This further includes the choice of programs in order of preference; educational qualifications; the percentage of marks/CGPA; category; PwD status, etc.
The online application fee for the examination is Rs 750 for one test paper and 1050 for two test papers for female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Further, for all other candidates, it is Rs 1500 for one test paper and 2100 for two test papers. Interested students can go through the official website in detail.
JAM 2021 Highlights
This year, IIT JAM 2021 Examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) for all Test Papers. It will have seven Test Papers, namely, Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Sciences, and Physics (PH). • Also, Economics (EN) paper is the new paper from this year.
All the seven Test Papers of JAM 2021 will be of entirely objective type, with three different patterns of questions, namely (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
IISc Bangalore will accept applications ONLINE only through JAM 2021 website. The institute has asked students to not send any hard copies of documents. Further, applicants have to upload them online to the application website only. Moreover, students will not have to undergo a suitability test or interview for the Master’s programs under JAM.
Integrated Ph.D. programs in Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Biological Sciences at IISc Bangalore will also use the JAM results to shortlist candidates for the final selection.
Documents to keep
The last date to apply is October 15. You need to have scanned copies of your ID proofs, all your mark sheets, a digital signature, and a digital photograph; in other cases, keep a copy of your category certificate as well. All the items that you will need:
· Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parent’s name, parent’s mobile number, etc.). Also, please note that the name of the candidate in the application form must exactly be the same as per the qualifying degree certificate. JAM 2021 Score Card will be issued as per the name entered in the application form. Prefix/title such as Mr/Shri/Dr/Mrs/Smt, etc. should NOT be used before the name.

· High-quality image of the candidate’s recent photograph conforming to the requirements specified

· Details of the valid Identity Document (ID) (This ID proof, in original, should be carried by the candidate to the examination hall)

How to Apply
Go to https://jam.iisc.ac.in/ starting September 10, and click on the Candidates Portal.
A candidate has to first register on the JOAPS website by providing his/her name, a valid E-mail address, a working mobile number, and a password. You need to give an E-mail address that you use and check frequently. Further, upon successful registration, you will get an E-mail containing Enrolment ID.
