iGOT on Diksha Platform for Digital Medical Training on COVID-19 [Updated]

The Department of Personnel and Training has launched a platform to combat COVID-19. This will be available for all front-line workers to equip them with the training and updates in coping with Pandemic. Alongside the Ministry of Human Resource Development, DoPT has launched the iGOT courses on Diksha Platform.

The target group for this course will be:

• Doctors
• Nurses
• Paramedics
• Hygiene Workers
• Technicians
• Auxiliary Nursing Midwives (ANMs)
• Central & State Govt. Officers, Civil Defence Officials
• various Police Organisations
• National Cadet Corps (NCC)
• Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS)
• National Service Scheme (NSS)
• Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS)
• Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG) and other volunteers.

There are 10 courses, namely:

• Basics of COVID-19
• ICU Care and Ventilation Management
• Clinical Management
• Infection Prevention through PPE
• Infection Control and Prevention
• Quarantine and Isolation
• Laboratory Sample Collection and Testing
• Management of COVID 19 Cases
• COVID 19 Training
• Psychological care of patients with COVID-19

The courses are free of cost. Also, they will usually be a set of 10 video lectures and contain a practice questionnaire at the end.

Through its customized approach, COVID-19 warriors can learn about critical areas from this one-stop source. Similarly, they can respond to the prevailing and emergent situations, by keeping themselves updated in a real-time manner. This platform is well equipped to cater to the demands of unlimited requests of learning at any time anywhere. Learners can access the platform through an easy to use manual for desktop and mobile versions, thereby making it accessible for all.

It is a well-known fact that the e-Learning provides unparalleled opportunities to train a large number of civil servants dispersed across the country. The latest technologies make available vast resources of learning material and Integrate Online Government Training. They provide enormous choices and flexibility in learning to various individuals.

The iGOT platform leverages Digital Infrastructure Knowledge Sharing platform (DIKSHA)-an application by the HRD Ministry for the training teachers & students.

1. Courses available specifically for the National Cadet Corps (NCC)

There are two courses available specifically for NCC Volunteers. They are:

a. COVID-19 Training for NCC Cadets

b. Trainee Onboarding_MoD

While the former consists of 7 videos, the latter is only an archive wherein there are details of people who have onboard the training.

2. The newly added courses are:

a. Management of COVID-19 cases (SARI, ARDS & Septic shock)

b. Pregnancy and COVID-19

c. Pediatric Concerns during COVID-19

3. Some courses are available in regional languages as well.

a. Basics of COVID-19 is now available in Malayali.

b. Infection Prevention through PPE is now available in Hindi and Bengali.
